Dr. Megan Matthyssen
Veterinarian/Practice Owner
Dr. Matthyssen attended Texas A&M University where she earned her Bachelor's and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees. Following graduation, she completed an equine medicine and surgery internship at the University of Missouri, and most recently practiced at a full-service equine and small animal clinic in the San Antonio area. Dr. Matthyssen’s special interests include general wellness, breeding work, and internal medicine.
Dr. Reagan Brendle
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Brendle graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. She comes to us from British Columbia, Canada with special interests in equine dentistry, medicine, lameness, and reproduction. She is currently completing the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society certification.
Lisa Fiala
Certified Veterinary Assistant II
Lisa grew up on a horse ranch where her family also bred German Shepherds. She has been a vet tech for 5 years and has spent a better part of the past 3 working with Southwest Hills. She is a CVA, Level II, a member of AAEVT (American Association of Equine Vet Technicians), and TARVT (Texas Association of Registered Veterinary Technicians). Lisa enjoys fishing, hunting, diesel sled pulling, and spending her free time with her dog Tito and her husband, Matt.
Leta Chandler
Technician
Leta graduated from West Texas A&M with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science. She has donated over 60 hours of time to the Amarillo SPCA and was an active leader in Zeta Tau Alpha. She loves riding her horses Big Red and Peppy while her fearless dog Ruger leads the way through the brush. Her next adventure is to become a Texas Roller Derby girl.
Jennifer Price
Practice Manager
Jennifer has loved animals since she was young & grew up in a small West Texas town surrounded by farms & ranches. A 2000 graduate of The University of Texas, she got her start in the veterinary field in 2003. Since then, she's managed 5 vet hospitals, worked in emergency vet care, and has been a foster parent for 2 Central Texas dog rescue organizations. In her spare time, she enjoys watching sports, lives for the Austin music scene, loves traveling, and visiting Austin’s parks with her Dachshunds: Rocky, Apollo & Don Vito.
Gwen Dominik
Receptionist
Gwen has worked in the veterinary inudstry as both a technician and receptionist for over 10 years. She is the proud owner of multiple animals including 9 dogs and 9 cats. She is fluent in American Sign Language and is very active in her local church.

Lorenzo Gomez
Barn Manager/Grounds Keeper
Lorenzo has worked with animals for over 12 years and especially loves horses and dogs. He began working with horses at Polo Club about 12 years ago, and for the past 6 years has worked for Southwest Hills Vet Hospital. Lorenzo enjoys running and spending time with his family. He is an active member in his church and is the administrative leader for his bible study group.
